Virunga

Virunga follows four characters as they fight to protect Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, home to the world's last mountain gorillas. Among them is park warden Rodrigue Mugaruka Katembo, central sector warden Emmanuel de Merode, gorilla caregiver André Bauma, and French investigative journalist Mélanie Gouby, as they battle war, poaching, and oil exploration from forces seeking to topple the government. The film showcases the natural beauty of Virunga and highlights the complex political and economic issues surrounding oil exploration and armed conflict in the region.
