Number 17

In "Number 17", a gang of jewel thieves, led by Ben (Leon M. Lion), hides out in an abandoned London house after a robbery, unaware that Detective Barton (John Stuart) is among them in disguise. As they try to escape, the detective's true identity is revealed, and the thieves are caught in a series of comedic misadventures, including a runaway bus and train chase. Along the way, Nora (Anne Grey), a deaf-mute woman, discovers her ability to speak, and Rose Ackroyd (Ann Casson) is reunited with her missing father, a police officer.
