The Summit

The Summit is a 2012 documentary film about the 2008 K2 disaster, directed by Nick Ryan. It combines documentary footage with dramatized recreations of the events of the K2 disaster, during which eleven climbers died on the way to and from the summit of one of the most dangerous mountains in the world. The film features interviews and reconstructions based on the experiences of real-life climbers such as Fredrik Sträng, who captured valuable footage before his team aborted their ascent due to safety concerns.
