For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada

The film chronicles the Cristero War (1926-1929), sparked by Mexico's attempt to secularize the country. Father Christopher (Peter O'Toole), a Catholic priest, is brutally murdered, prompting 13-year-old José Luis Sánchez (Mauricio Kuri) to join the rebels, the Cristeros ("soldiers for Christ"), fighting against President Plutarco Elías Calles (Rubén Blades). José's protégé and rebel leader, General Enrique Gorostieta Velarde (Andy García), is driven by love for his faith and anger against the injustices committed against him.
