In 1934 Warsaw, famous safe cracker Henryk Kwinto, released from prison after six years, discovers his wife has moved on to the police commissioner Karelicki. Kwinto then reunites with two young petty criminals, Moks and Nuta, who convince him to join their heist, claiming he's a musician. Unbeknownst to them, Kwinto is actually planning revenge against his former partner in crime, Gustaw Kramer, who had set him up six years ago. With the help of his old friend Duńczyk, Kwinto devises a clever plan to rob Kramer's bank, framing him for the heist and leaving no fingerprints behind.
