Fighter in the Wind

At the tail-end of World War II, Choi Bae-dal, a young Korean man, longs to fly fighter planes and stows away to Japan to join their air force. He discovers a fellow Korean who has turned to petty crime, and together they navigate the country's harsh treatment of Koreans by turning to their own survival skills. As Bae-dal finds himself in increasing danger, he is taken under the wing of a martial arts expert who teaches him more sophisticated fighting techniques. After losing loved ones and facing gangsters, Bae-dal retreats to the mountains to train in earnest, eventually taking on the title Masutatsu Oyama and challenging Japan's top fighters - a path that would lead him to become a legend in his own right.
