Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom

In this heartwarming drama, Ugyen Dorji (Sherab Dorji) a young teacher from Thimphu, travels to the remote mountain village of Lunana in Bhutan, where he finds himself amidst 56 people living at an altitude of 13,000 ft above sea level. With the help of Michen (Ugyen Norbu Lhendup), a local guide, Ugyen slowly makes improvements to the classroom and becomes a favorite among the children, who believe in his ability to "touch the future." As winter approaches, Ugyen must leave but is gifted by Saldon (Kelden Lhamo Gurung), a village leader's niece, with a yak named Norbu, which he uses for teaching purposes.
