The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines

In 2nd century AD, the powerful Roman Empire agrees to form an alliance with the Han Dynasty by marrying their prince and princess, but Prince Marcus Carprenius opposes the decision as he feels used. Chinese princess Meng Li Hua also wants to be free and flees with her handmaiden Ying Ying. Merong Mahawangsa, a smuggler claiming descent from Alexander the Great, guides Marcus to the mysterious peninsula where they meet Chinese Admiral Liu Yun. Taji, a sorcerer leading a pirate tribe called Garuda, kidnaps Meng and Ying Ying, but is defeated by Merong, who unites the peninsula's tribes and creates the kingdom of Langkasuka.
