When a hypochondriac assumes that he is dying, George Kimball (Rock Hudson) makes an elaborate plan to ensure his wife's happiness. However, trouble ensues when she misunderstands his intentions and believes he is planning to leave her for another woman, leading to a series of misadventures involving Arnold Nash (Tony Randall), Mr. Akins (Paul Lynde), and Winston Burr (Hal March).
