"Iancu Jianu haiducul" (1981) is a film about a young man's journey to stand up against oppression in 18th-19th century Wallachia. As Adrian Pintea plays Iancu Jianu, he joins forces with friend Mereanu (Mihai Mereuță), and together they unite with Tudor Vladimirescu (no actor mentioned) to fight for freedom and independence from the Phanariot regime, marked by tyranny and abuse.
