In 1991 Latvia, Jazis (Karlis Arnolds Avots) is a nineteen-year-old aspiring cinematographer who becomes entangled in the peaceful protests against the Soviet Army's takeover of power in his country. During this pivotal time, Jazis forms strong bonds with his fellow protesters, including Anna (Alise Dzene), Zeps (Sandis Runge), and Biruta (Baiba Broka).
