Emma Brody (Madeleine Stowe), a 20-year-old blind violinist, undergoes a corneal transplant that partially restores her sight, but she struggles to distinguish reality from hallucinations. Convinced she's witnessed a murder, Emma reports the incident to Detective John Hallstrom (Aidan Quinn), who initially questions her reliability due to her impaired vision. As they work together to track down the killer, their relationship evolves into romance, but complications arise when Dr. Ryan Pierce (Peter Friedman) becomes embroiled in the investigation and Emma begins to question his motives.
