Neruda is a 2016 biographical drama film directed by Pablo Larraín. In 1948, Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (Luis Gnecco) accuses the government of betraying the Communist Party and loses his parliamentary immunity. Inspector Óscar Peluchonneau (Gael García Bernal) is tasked with arresting the poet, but Neruda goes underground with his wife Delia del Carril (Mercedes Morán), leaving poetry volumes to mobilize resistance.
