Don Cheadle stars as Petey Greene, a former prisoner who becomes a popular radio host and community activist in 1960s Washington D.C. Through his show, "Telling it like it is," Petey gains a large following and addresses social issues of the time, including the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He also navigates personal struggles with his girlfriend Vernell and her disapproval of his behavior.
