In a dystopian near-future, the Jeffers Corporation, led by its enigmatic leader Mr. Jeffers, is perpetuating a culture of mindless productivity that's suffocating independent thought and intimacy. George Washington Winsterhammerman, a low-level "tunt" employee at the corporation, starts experiencing strange dreams, which he believes may be connected to his growing discontent with his monotonous life. As people around him begin to explode from stress, George is forced to confront the emptiness of his existence and consider the true meaning of happiness through meaningless activity.
