El Conde, a 2023 Chilean black comedy horror film, directed by Pablo Larraín and written by Larraín and Guillermo Calderón, satirizes Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet as a 250-year-old vampire seeking death. The film stars Jaime Vadell as El Conde (Augusto Pinochet), Gloria Münchmeyer as Lucia, Alfredo Castro as Fyodor, Paula Luchsinger as Carmencita, and Stella Gonet as Margaret Thatcher. With its stunning black-and-white canvas, excellent cinematography, score, and editing, the film delivers an effective sociopolitical satire, employing sarcasm and a gruesome killing spree by Fyodor to comment on Pinochet's crimes.
