Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth

In 1997, a surreal and apocalyptic science fiction film emerged from Japan, comprising two sections: "Death" and "Rebirth". The former is a compilation of clips from the first 24 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, re-edited to include new shots and animations created specifically for this feature. This visually striking and music-driven sequence serves as a recap of the series' events up until that point, accompanied by the haunting beauty of Pachelbel's Canon performed by a string quartet. In stark contrast, "Rebirth" presents 24 minutes of entirely new animation, providing an alternate take on the Human Instrumentality Project's initial stages and the Geofront invasion.
