Child's Play

A supernatural slasher film about a widowed mother who gives a new doll to her son, unaware that it is possessed by the soul of a serial killer, unleashing terror upon the city after being shot in a toy store and transferred into the doll through a voodoo spell. The doll, named Chucky, comes to life and begins a killing spree, targeting its owner's friends and eventually the mother herself. As the body count rises, a detective is tasked with solving the murders, but he soon discovers that the killer may be closer than he thinks - in his own home. With its blend of horror and dark humor, Child's Play spawned a media franchise that has become a cult classic.
