Two years after Chucky's death, the Play Pals Corporation reassembles him from his remains and uses a power surge to revive him. Andy Barclay, now eight years old, is placed in foster care with Phil and Joanne Simpson, who bring home Kyle, a cynical teenage girl. Chucky infiltrates the Simpsons' home, taking the place of another Good Guy doll, "Tommy", and begins to wreak havoc on their lives.
