Short Time

Seattle detective Burt Simpson, 8 days from retirement, is given a death sentence after a mix-up in his medical test results reveals he has only weeks to live. Believing his family will only receive a large payout if he dies in the line of duty, Burt checks his police life insurance and demands his captain puts him on the most dangerous assignments, recklessly putting himself in harm's way to meet his supposed demise. As he navigates these thrilling and hilarious situations, Burt gains a new appreciation for life and loved ones, ultimately discovering that his family doesn't need him to die to be truly appreciated.
