In the quirky comedy "Happy, Texas," two escaped convicts roll into the village of Happy, Texas, where they're mistaken for a gay couple who work as beauty pageant consultants. They go along with it to duck the police, but the local sheriff has a secret of his own. The film's talented cast, including Jeremy Northam and Steve Zahn, sell the situation so amusingly that it becomes a funny romantic comedy, with standout performances from William H. Macy as the quietly, earnestly in love sheriff.
