In 16th-century India, two inseparable women, Tara and Maya, navigate a tumultuous friendship that blossoms into forbidden love amidst the intrigue of royal courts and ancient sensuality. As Maya becomes the king's favored concubine, she must confront the darker aspects of her own desires and the price of survival in a world governed by patriarchal oppression. Through Mira Nair's masterful direction, "Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love" is a richly textured exploration of female desire, betrayal, and the unyielding power of the human spirit.
