Anomalisa

Anomalisa is a 2015 adult animated comedy-drama film directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, based on Kaufman's 2005 audio play. The story follows Michael Stone (David Thewlis), a middle-aged English-born motivational speaker who feels disconnected from everyone around him, until he meets Lisa Hesselman (Jennifer Jason Leigh), an insecure young woman at a convention in Cincinnati. As Michael becomes increasingly enthralled with Lisa, he struggles to cope with his own isolation and the eerie feeling that everyone else is identical.
