In 1989, a young mariner named Marinică dies in Timișoara during the Revolution. Fifteen years later, French journalist Irene, from whom Marinică had an affair before his death, sets out to find their unborn child. At the same time, she follows the story of a Romanian woman who claims to be Hilde, a friend of Imola, Marinică's pregnant partner. The film interweaves these two stories, revealing their intertwined fates.
