Fremont

Donya, played by Anaita Wali Zada, is a lonely Afghan refugee living in Fremont, California, struggling with insomnia and survivor's guilt as she navigates her new life in America. At a fortune cookie factory, where she works alongside Joanna, Donya begins to form connections with her neighbors, colleagues, and a potential love interest, Daniel, but her past trauma and sense of isolation threaten to upend her fragile relationships. With the help of her eccentric therapist, Dr. Anthony, played by Gregg Turkington, Donya grapples with her emotional scars and longs for a sense of belonging in her new home.
