The film follows a married woman, Taeko, who lives happily with her husband, Jirō, and their young son Keita, until a tragic accident brings Keita's long-lost father, Park, back into her life. To cope with the pain and guilt, Taeko throws herself into helping this deaf and homeless man, played by Atom Sunada.
