Total Eclipse

Young, wild poet Arthur Rimbaud and his mentor Paul Verlaine engage in a fierce, forbidden romance while feeling the effects of a hellish artistic lifestyle. Based on letters and poems from 19th-century French poets, this film presents a historically accurate account of their tumultuous relationship, which ultimately leads to tragedy and heartbreak for both men. The film's dramatic portrayal of their destructive passion is set against the backdrop of Parisian cafes, literary salons, and the societal constraints that threatened to consume them.
