The MatchMaker

In this charming 1997 romantic comedy, Janeane Garofalo plays Marcy Tizard, a determined assistant to Senator John McGlory's reelection campaign, who embarks on a quest to find his Irish ancestry in the small village of Ballinagra. There, she becomes entangled in the annual matchmaking festival and finds herself at the center of a rivalry between two local matchmakers. As Marcy navigates her way through the festival's colorful characters and romantic entanglements, she must confront her own expectations and desires, all while helping McGlory win the Irish vote.
