Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello star as Frankie and Dee Dee, two friends who find their Malibu Beach spot threatened by a group of bodybuilders led by Don Rickles' character Jack Fanny. A bored Italian countess tries to turn Frankie into a teen idol, but he eventually returns to his American beach bunny, Dee Dee. The film features musical numbers by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones, including Stevie Wonder in his 13-year-old film debut.
