Millionaire Harvey Huntington Honeywagon III sets out to prove his theory that his pet chimpanzee is as intelligent as the teenagers who hang out on the local beach, where he intends to build a retirement home, much to the dismay of the beachgoers and surfers. Frankie Avalon stars in this 1964 teen film, which also features Annette Funicello and Don Rickles in musical numbers and drag racing scenes. The movie belongs to the beach party genre of films popular in the 1960s, with a mix of comedy, romance, and music.
