The Beguiled

A wounded Yankee soldier, John McBurney (Clint Eastwood), finds refuge at a girls' school in rural Mississippi during the American Civil War. After being taken in by the school's headmistress Martha Farnsworth (Geraldine Page) and her students, including Edwina (Elizabeth Hartman) and Carol (Jo Ann Harris), John manipulates their desires for his own gratification but ultimately faces resistance when they demand more from him. The situation escalates into a deadly game of cat and mouse as the women turn against each other and Martha tries to protect her school from being discovered by Confederate troops.
