The Manhattan Project

A gifted high school student, Paul Stephens (Christopher Collet), steals plutonium from a secret nuclear weapons facility in his hometown to construct his own nuclear bomb for a national science fair. He plans to expose the government's secrets and win the award. With the help of his mother, Jenny Anderman (Cynthia Nixon), and scientist John Mathewson (John Lithgow), Paul devises a plan to return the bomb on his own terms, while Lt. Col. Conroy (John Mahoney) investigates their actions.
