Genie

A 2023 Christmas fantasy comedy film directed by Sam Boyd and written by Richard Curtis, Genie stars Melissa McCarthy as Flora, a genie trapped for more than 2,000 years inside an antique jewelry box, who accidentally grants wishes to Bernard, a stressed workaholic whose life is unraveling around him. With hints of Aladdin and Bruce Almighty, the story follows Bernard's journey from burnt-out employee to devoted father and hero, as Flora helps him solve his problems and find freedom. Along the way, he learns the true meaning of Christmas and makes wishes that bring joy to those around him, including a shopping spree and a romantic interest in his doorman, Lenny.
