The Hawks and the Sparrows

In this surreal allegory, Totò and his son Ninetto embark on a spiritual journey through rural Italy, accompanied by a wise-cracking crow that spouts social commentary reminiscent of Erasmus' Nescio. As they encounter a cast of characters from the margins of society, the trio grapples with themes of poverty, class conflict, and the struggle for love and understanding between the hawks and sparrows, in a world where even the birds are not immune to the ravages of power and exploitation.
