Culloden

Culloden, 1964, is a docudrama that depicts the Battle of Culloden on April 16th, 1746, in the Scottish Highlands. The film uses non-professional actors to portray historical characters being interviewed by filmmakers on the scene, giving an amateurish yet gritty feel to the reality of the battle. It tells the story of the Jacobite Army's defeat at the hands of government troops under William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, and the aftermath of the battle, which was one of the most mishandled and brutal in British history.
