In this pre-Code comedy-drama, aging New York City fruit seller Apple Annie leads a double life as high-society matron Mrs. E. Worthington Manville to her daughter Louise, who has been raised in a Spanish convent since infancy. When Louise's true identity is threatened by her upcoming nuptials to a nobleman and his father, Annie must transform herself from street vendor to elegant dowager with the help of a pool hustler posing as her husband.
