In 1960s Taiwan, during the White Terror period, two students are trapped at their hillside high school at night while searching for missing friends and teachers who were part of a secret book club that read and studied banned government books. As they navigate the abandoned school's dark corridors, they encounter ghosts and monstrous apparitions that have taken over, forcing them to confront a tragic past filled with betrayal and oppression.
