The Interrupters

The Interrupters tells the moving stories of three violence interrupters, former gang members who try to protect their Chicago communities from the violence they once caused. Tio Hardiman, Ameena Matthews, and Cobe Williams reflect on their past experiences with street violence, using this insight to steer young people away from a life of crime. The film examines a year in which Chicago drew national headlines for its violence and murder rate, featuring CeaseFire, an initiative aimed at preventing gang-related violence.
