Cane River

In 1982, a forbidden romance blossoms between two black communities in Louisiana, sparking tensions between their disparate fates. The light-skinned Creoles and the darker-skinned families of the area are caught in a web of class and color that threatens to tear them apart. As they navigate these complex divisions, Peter Metoyer and Maria Mathis must confront the very fabric of their world.
