The Rift

The Rift (1990) is a Spanish science-fiction horror film directed by Juan Piquer Simón, starring Jack Scalia as Wick Hayes, an engineer who leads an investigation team to find out what happened to the missing submarine he designed, the Siren I. The crew of the experimental submarine Siren II encounters an array of abnormal creatures in an underwater rift, surrounding them with a toxic weed and leading them to a secret lab where genetic engineering experiments have produced mutant creatures.
