A sombre departure from John Woo's typical fare, Silent Night is a gut-wrenching vigilante action-thriller that follows an aggrieved father, played by Joel Kinnaman, as he seeks revenge for his son's brutal killing in a gang-related drive-by shooting on Christmas Eve. With minimal spoken dialogue and a focus on the protagonist's emotional turmoil, Woo delivers a thought-provoking exploration of grief, loss, and redemption. As Brian Godlock trains himself to exact vengeance, he must confront the true cost of his mission - and the toll it takes on those around him.
