Robert Forrester, a man fleeing his painful divorce and struggling with mental instability, moves to small-town Pennsylvania in search of solace. There, he becomes fascinated with his beautiful neighbor, Jenny Thierolf, and finds himself drawn into a complex web of obsession, routine, and domestic life.
