Melissa McCarthy stars as Michelle Darnell, a wealthy and powerful businesswoman who is arrested for insider trading and sent to prison, where she eventually returns ready to rebrand herself as America's latest sweetheart. With the help of her assistant Claire (Kristen Bell), Michelle starts selling homemade brownies to raise money and begins a new company called "Darnell's Darlings" with Claire as a partner.
