An Englishman in New York

Quentin Crisp, a literary iconoclast, arrives in New York City in 1981 and becomes an overnight sensation, celebrated for his unique blend of monologues followed by Q&A sessions from the audience. However, his seemingly carefree attitude towards the emerging AIDS epidemic sparks controversy when he refuses to apologize or recant, causing him to fall out of favor with a grieving gay community. As Crisp navigates the complexities of fame and aging, he finds solace in tender relationships with friends like Patrick Angus, while continuing to defy convention with his wit and irreverence.
