The film tells the true story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become a police officer. Despite failing his 12th-grade exams due to school-sanctioned cheating, Manoj clears his examinations honestly and decides to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree to qualify for the civil services. With the help of Pritam Pandey, a wealthy aspirant, Manoj joins him on his journey to Delhi to prepare for the hyper-competitive Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams. There, he meets Shraddha Joshi, an IRS officer who becomes his love interest and eventual wife.
