Ransom

When millionaire airline magnate Tom Mullen's son Sean is kidnapped and taken to an apartment by a group of kidnappers led by corrupt NYPD detective Jimmy Shaker, Tom cooperates with the police at first but then uses a unique tactic against the criminals. He presents the ransom money as a bounty on the kidnapper, dead or alive, in an attempt to get his son back safely. With his wife Kate and FBI Special Agent Lonnie Hawkins working together to help rescue Sean, Tom refuses to pay the kidnappers despite their threats, leading to a tense standoff that ultimately ends with the kidnappers being exposed and killed by Tom.
