The film follows Abbie Hoffman's (Vincent D'Onofrio) relationship with his second wife Anita (Janeane Garofalo), and their transformation into an activist life. The movie is based on letters from the underground written by Abbie and Anita Hoffman, and explores 1960s radicalism.
