The Pagan Queen

In 8th century Bohemia, visionary Slavic queen Libuše (Winter Ave Zoli) draws on everything in her power to overthrow the despotic husband of her people, after her father's death, she is elected as their new ruler and guides them with the power of her visionary abilities. She envisions the city of Prague, helps farmers fight a deadly plague, and starts mining rich Bohemian mountains, all while hiding a secret affair with charismatic ploughman Přemysl (Csaba Lucas). As the community is torn apart by power-hungry landowners and raiders, Libuše's friend Vlasta refuses to follow the new leader and declares war on the men of Bohemia, leading to a tragic showdown. The film ends with Libuše diving into the river Vltava, symbolizing her becoming a legend.
