Swamp Water

In the 1941 American Southern Gothic film noir "Swamp Water," Jean Renoir directs a complex tale of redemption and morality set amidst the treacherous Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia. Dana Andrews stars as Ben Ragan, a hunter who becomes embroiled in a manhunt for fugitive Walter Brennan's character, Tom Keefer, but instead finds himself drawn to Keefer's daughter, Julie (Anne Baxter), and persuaded by her father to return to town and start anew.
