In a Mexican border town plagued by neglect and violence, Eugenio Derbez plays Sergio, a frustrated teacher who tries unorthodox methods to break through his students' apathy and unlock their potential, much like a modern-day Prof. Keating from "Dead Poets Society". Sergio's unconventional approach causes consternation among the school's authorities, led by Daniel Haddad's Chucho, but also brings hope and inspiration to the community.
